One of our very own BoldList content creators has had great success over the last several months with his own weight loss journey (so far he has lost 100 pounds in around 10 months)! These are 5 of the most important tidbits he picked up from his experiences!

1) Pushups, Pushups, Pushups

  • Nature’s most perfect exercise!
  • Works your entire upper body
  • Also helps tighten your abdominals
  • Can be done anywhere
  • Start with as many as you can and slowly work your way up

2) Avoid Pastas, Breads, and Sugars

  • Avoid refined sugar at all costs
  • Keep your bread, pasta, and potato intake to a minimum (1-2 per week)
  • Natural sugars in fruit/veggies are OK in moderation
  • Avoid fruit juices (they often contain TONS of sugar)
  • As an Italian Food junkie, this is a tough one (but necessary)!

3) Eat Rice Porridge

  • Low calorie
  • Loaded with water, so it helps with hydration
  • Contains enough carbs for energy without going overboard
  • Easy to make (you only need rice, water, and salt!)
  • Absolutely delicious and very customizable!

4) Count Total Calories

  • Want to lose weight? It really is this simple!
  • Research different activities and how many calories they burn
  • Research nutrition information of everything you’re eating
  • Do the math!
  • If your calories out are greater than your calories in, you WILL lose weight!

5) Hydrate

  • Everybody says it, and they’re right!
  • Every system in your body needs water to work effectively
  • Processing water in your body actually BURNS calories
  • Especially important if you’re exercising on top of dieting
  • Feeling full of water? Good! Now drink another glass!
