  • Hugh Jackman announced that X-Men: Apocalypse & Untitled Wolverine Sequel (2017) will be his last as Wolverine and he'll be retiring from the role after playing the role since 2000

  • Ben Affleck asked Christian Bale for any advice he could give about playing Batman. The two men met by accident in a costume shop. They were both buying a Batman costume for their sons
  • Affleck gained an additional 30lbs of muscle and reached 8% body fat for his role as Batman
  • Rumoured to have a 410 million dollar budget, which would make this the most expensive movie of all time

3) Captain America: Civil War Release Date: April 27, 2016

  • Political interference in the Avenger's activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man
  • Features the first appearance of the Black Panther, who will later feature in his own solo movie in February 2018
  • Mark Ruffalo was spotted on the set of the film, thus sparking rumors of a potential Hulk appearance in the film.
  • This is Spider-Man's first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

  • Jared Leto is the third Oscar-winning actor to portray the Joker, after Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger
  • The first comic-based film to feature a team of supervillains where they're the main cast of characters in a comic book film

5) Deadpool Release Date: February 12, 2016

  • Director: Tim Miller
  • A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and adopts the alter ego Deadpool
  • Colossus, a character from the original X-Men film series, is set to have a role in this movie
  • This is the first film in the X-Men franchise to receive an R-rating
  • On April Fool's Day 2015, Ryan Reynolds posted on Twitter that the film would be rated PG-13, which prompted fan backlash as the Deadpool character often swears and commits acts of graphic violence. Later that day, Reynolds confirmed that it was a prank and the film would be R rated
